Private Label Tablets: Define the Product and Brand Handover
The approved identity includes how the unit is used, its composition and its retail pack.
Agree the tablet-to-brand handover
| Decision | Information to request | How to use the answer |
|---|---|---|
| Tablet format | Swallowable, chewable or intended for dissolution | State the intended use rather than grouping all tablets together. |
| Formula | Ingredient identities, amount basis and supporting components | Request a controlled specification, not just a catalogue title. |
| Adaptation | Flavour, coating, unit shape, scoring or other requested changes | Identify which changes need samples or further evaluation. |
| Retail version | Count, serving information, label and package | Keep the final artwork aligned with the reviewed unit. |
| Repeat order | Permitted changes and notification responsibilities | Avoid silent substitution under the same brand reference. |
Name the retail tablet version before approving the order
Illustrative purchasing exercise, not a customer case, test result or quotation.
A reference tablet is offered with a new brand label. The buyer also asks for a coating change. Record the physical change separately from artwork so that the quotation and approval refer to the same product.
- Tablet: Formula, shape, coating and the proposed acceptance basis.
- Retail unit: Tablets per container, packaging and the approved artwork revision.
- Handover: Named owner for specification, samples, release records and remaining changes.
Decision output: A reference number helps identify a discussion; it is not a substitute for the tablet and retail-unit specification that the parties actually agree.
Approve the product and the brand presentation as linked records. The supplier’s existing tablet may reduce some development work, but a new claim, serving instruction or packaging arrangement still needs its own review. Before ordering, identify the exact specification and artwork versions and which documents accompany the finished batch.
