Compare softgel quotations on the same weight basis
A capsule weight can describe different things. Put the basis beside each number in the quotation and sample specification.

For fish oil, an oil-fill weight alone does not establish the EPA or DHA amount. Keep those quantities separate when reviewing the proposed specification. Shape, colour and shell choice also belong in the sample brief.

Connect the sample decision to production
Request encapsulated samples for the proposed fill–shell combination. Identify the observations and tests needed for shell integrity, leakage, handling and the actual packaged product. A material report for an oil is not a report on the encapsulated product, and an unencapsulated blend does not resolve every shell-interaction question.
Confirm what the quotation actually includes
Have the proposal identify fill preparation, encapsulation, sample assessment, testing and packing responsibilities. Confirm which shell and package material commitments affect the minimum order. Any new fill, shell material or unit size needs its own assessment rather than inheriting a catalogue product specification.
