Effervescent Tablet Development: Moisture, Compression and Pack
Agree the intended water conditions, handling and pack before deciding what a successful development sample would show.
Specify the preparation and package together
| Decision | Information to request | How to use the answer |
|---|---|---|
| Preparation | Water volume, temperature, handling and observation endpoint | Compare samples under the same recorded conditions. |
| Unit | Ingredient basis, unit mass and tablet dimensions | Keep content targets distinct from the total tablet weight. |
| Process review | Proposed operations, exposure and in-process questions | Ask which conditions the pilot needs to represent. |
| Package | Tube or other pack, closure and after-opening use | Request the rationale and evidence for the protection system. |
| Acceptance | Product-specific criteria and responsible reviewer | Avoid borrowing a pass time from another formulation. |
Check tablet fit inside the selected tube
Specify tablet diameter, thickness and count alongside the tube. Internal diameter and usable space under the selected closure matter when reviewing the assembly.

| Historical tube reference | Outer / inner diameter (mm) | Tube height (mm) | Count noted in the table |
|---|---|---|---|
| 23 × 103 | 23 / 21 | 103 | 10 tablets |
| 23 × 145 | 23 / 21 | 145 | 20 tablets |
| 29 × 125 | 29 / 27 | 125 | 15 tablets |
The noted counts apply to the table’s reference configurations. Confirm the actual tablet thickness, closure, fit and protective requirements for your project. Record flavour, sweetness and prepared-drink colour with the agreed preparation instructions; the template provides no dissolution-time result.
See how component choice also affects label dimensions.

Evaluate the tablet and moisture-protective pack as one project
Illustrative purchasing exercise, not a customer case, test result or quotation.
A sample tablet is acceptable immediately after opening, but the proposed retail tube and closure have not been selected. That sample observation cannot settle the storage or handling performance of the finished presentation.
- Tablet observation: Identify the sample and the dissolution or handling conditions used.
- Packaging decision: Identify the actual tube or other pack, closure and proposed protection.
- Remaining work: Agree the evidence needed for the product in the final presentation.
Decision output: Keep any powder, tablet and packed-product observations separate. They describe different stages and should not be combined into an unsupported shelf-life statement.
Record disintegration observations separately from ingredient assay and other quality questions. A sample that disperses attractively does not establish storage life or the accuracy of label content. Before ordering, align the approved preparation instructions, final formula, pack revision and planned evaluation programme.
